TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As of 22 February, Indonesia has participated in exhibitions retail MUBA held in Basel, Switzerland. In the exhibition, which runs 10 days until March 3, the Ministry of Commerce to coordinate 48 small and medium entrepreneurs to showcase superior products and capture consumers there.
One of the exhibitors from Indonesia, namely PT Tirta Marta, a company that produces plastic products are environmentally friendly. Unlike ordinary plastic made from polymer materials, plastic is made from tapioca or cassava feedstock.
"This product received a positive response from visitors to the exhibition. Because in Europe the awareness to use environmentally friendly products has been high," said Director General of National Export Development, Gusmardi Bustami, Thursday, February 28, 2013.
In the promotion, it was mentioned that plastic production PT Tirta Marta can be destroyed in just six weeks, depending on soil conditions and microbial activity.

In the exhibition MUBA, PT Tirta Marta get a glance at potential distributors to market Ecoplas Madagascar, Germany, and Switzerland. To further reassure European consumers, Ecoplas also are certified Fair For Life of IMO is based in Switzerland. "This adds a sense of confidence in the products of Indonesia, where Ecoplas besides social impact is also environmentally friendly, because in every 200 tons Ecoplas, could employ 2,000 cassava farmers and cottage industry," said Gusmardi.
Besides Ecoplas products, some products are also getting positive response from buyers Switzerland and Germany, among others, outdoor furniture, a chef's hat, cotton hat, cake case, striated weaving, crafts, and jewelry.
MUBA Exhibition 2013 is the first promotional event conducted by the Ministry of Commerce to penetrate any non-traditional markets in Europe, namely Switzerland. "On this occasion, the participants can interact and find out the needs that people want Switzerland and surrounding countries," said Gusmardi.
Indonesia, which is a "State Guest of Honor" featuring the Indonesia Pavilion, located in the exhibition area of 2,000 square meters. MUBA Exhibition is the largest and oldest retail exhibition in Switzerland, which opened to the general public. The exhibition occupies an area of 75 thousand square meters.
